Bella Posta: Hotel in South Tyrol
In Soprabolzano, on the sun-drenched Ritten plateau, Bella Posta reinvents Alpine hospitality with irresistible Italian lightness, blending heritage, contemporary design and an effortless sense of dolce vita.
Bella Posta Hotel: The art of dolce vita at altitude, above Bolzano
Just ten minutes from Bolzano by cable car, Bella Posta overlooks the valley from Soprabolzano, on the Ritten plateau renowned for its relaxed lifestyle, pure mountain air and sweeping views of the Dolomites. The location is rare: secluded enough to offer absolute tranquility, yet close enough for spontaneous urban escapes. All around lie meadows, forests, and a historic garden now entirely pedestrian, bathed in the distinctive South Tyrolean light that subtly shapes each moment of the day.
Formerly known as Hotel Post-Victoria, the building has been part of the region’s hospitality heritage since the early 20th century. Today, it is undergoing a profound transformation led by the Holzner family—an iconic name in South Tyrolean hospitality for four generations and already the owners of the legendary neighboring Parkhotel Holzner. Following the renovation of Villa Victoria, which reopened as Bella Posta Apartments in May 2025, attention has now turned to the historic main building, the former Hotel Post. Roof, technical infrastructure, communal spaces, rooms, dining and wellness areas: everything is being redesigned, modernized and harmonized around a new concept. The official grand reopening of Bella Posta Hotel is scheduled for March 2026, just in time for the Alpine spring.
For this revival, the Holzner family entrusted the project to architectural duo raro, who deliver a sensitive and contemporary reinterpretation of the building. The result is an architecture that preserves the soul of the place while visually lightening it. Light wood, natural materials, warm tones, elegant shapes and clean lines come together in a setting that feels both soothing and modern. The communal spaces, open and filled with natural light, encourage togetherness: intimate lounges, reading corners, a panoramic terrace and wide openings framing the landscape. Architecture and nature interact constantly, creating a seamless dialogue between Alpine tradition and Italian elegance.
Bella Posta offers a collection of rooms, suites and studios—each one unique, yet all designed around a single promise: effortless comfort. Whether compact and cozy or more spacious, they share refined design, high-quality textiles, large windows and breathtaking views of the mountains or the village. Beds invite deep rest, spaces feel airy, and discreet technology—digital check-in, a dedicated app and streamlined services—removes the unnecessary to let guests fully enjoy their stay. Each room becomes a luminous cocoon, ideal for reconnecting with oneself.
At Bella Posta, gastronomy feels instinctive and unforced. The Dolce Vita All Day concept, included in the All Inclusive Light offering, accompanies guests from morning to night. The day begins with an Italian-style breakfast served until 11 a.m.: aromatic coffee, flaky pastries, fresh fruit, sweet treats and savory specialties. Throughout the day, hot drinks, refreshments and small indulgences punctuate quiet moments. In the late afternoon, the ritual of aperitivo takes center stage, followed by a convivial dinner blending authentic Italian cuisine with South Tyrolean influences—antipasti, homemade pasta, simple yet flavorful dishes, comforting desserts and a carefully curated selection of local wines. Dining here is spontaneous, free from rigid schedules or reservations.
Well-being continues at the Gioia Spa, a brand-new space dedicated to calm and regeneration. A heated indoor pool with panoramic views, Finnish sauna, delicately scented steam bath and light-filled relaxation rooms invite guests to slow down. Outside, the historic garden—now entirely pedestrian—offers shaded corners beneath ancient trees, blooming flowerbeds and open vistas across the Ritten plateau. For those wishing to go further, treatments and massages are available at the neighboring Parkhotel Holzner, extending the wellness experience.
Between mountains and dolce vita, Bella Posta embodies a new way of traveling in South Tyrol: elegant, relaxed and deeply human. A place to slow down, breathe, savor—and leave with the feeling of having discovered a beautifully kept secret.
