Opened in 2020, Bermonds Locke is an urban retreat located at the heart of southeast London’s Bermondsey neighborhood, just a few minute’s walk from The Shard and Tower Bridge. It’s one of the fastest-changing, most inspiring parts of London.

After the opening of Leman Locke in Aldgate and Locke in Broken Wharf, Bermonds Lock is the third property of the lifestyle hotel brand Locke Living, which settled in the British capital. The hotel has partnered with London-based interior design studio Holloway Li, known for their contemporary and colorful interiors. Inspired by the great Californian spaces, the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree National Park, Bermonds Locke features mirage-like mirrored ceilings, planters filled with cacti and succulents, walls clad in iridescent rainbow-colored passivated zinc, as well as neutral and mineral tones. Focusing on sustainability, building materials – that otherwise would have been destined for landfill – were salvaged and reused, especially concrete cubes which form the base of a six-meter-long terrazzo desk.

The hotel consists of 143 guest suites, including 99 studios and 44 one-bedroom apartments, nestled on the upper floors. Each combines that blends the sensibilities of apartment living with all of the amenities of a hotel stay, a home away from home, where we can sleep, wash, eat, and work. Interiors feature rough wood floors and colors evocative of desert sunsets, ranging from pale blues to burnt oranges and vivid reds. The suites are furnished with a black framed bed draped with sheets of linens, a modular sofa, a table/desk, a walk-in closet, a bathroom, a fully functional kitchen and a laundry facilities, offering the possibility of long stays.

On the main floor, we find the lobby, a coworking space, the Shaman café (hot drinks, breakfast, and light snacks), and The Dairy Bermondsey restaurant. The hotel also offers a yoga studio.
