Casa C’Alma: Guesthouse in Lisbon
In Lisbon, Casa C'Alma is a guesthouse full of character in a minimalist Scandinavian-inspired design.
Minimalist Scandi-design in Lisbon
Casa C’Alma is located in front of the Praça das Flores Park, in the peaceful neighborhood of Principe Real.
Nestled in a beautiful building with a bright pink facade, its original layout has been restored in collaboration with the architect Pureza Faria White, and Arkstudio for the interior design. The name C’Alma is a reflection of what Rafael Reis, the owner, wants to offer guests: a slow and mindful lifestyle (Calma in Portuguese) as well as a place that evokes emotion (Alma in Portuguese) to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Casa C’Alma, opened in 2016, offers a careful minimalist design, combined with a warm, relaxed, and serene all around mood, making the stay unique in itself. The décor is designed with Scandinavian style, featuring soft palette of whites and pale blues. The Scandinavian influence is also evident in the house’s philosophy.
Casa C’Alma offers 5 bright rooms, all different, but with the same elegant decoration and Nordic inspirations. The furniture is eclectic and comes from various locations and spanning from vintage and contemporary stores, to flea markets and typical Portuguese flea markets. All rooms have private bathrooms and Meraki toiletries.
Casa C’Alma has a large living room and several comfortable corners where you can snuggle, rest, work, read, and socialize. Beautiful books and a large collection of magazines are available to guests. There is also a communal kitchen, where a generous typical Portuguese breakfast is served every morning. The blue kitchen opens onto a small patio overlooking an enclosed courtyard. And for the best places to eat, Rafael will gladly share them with you.
Casa C’Alma is an exclusive, quiet and intimate place to enjoy that fleeting feeling of escape from busy city life.
