Casas Caiadas Open House is a guesthouse nestled in the heart of the authentic Alentejo region.
In the heart of Alentejo
Casas Caiadas Open House is a guesthouse located in the center of the village of Arraiolos, in the Alantejo region, in the heart of Portugal.
Opened in 2020, Casa Caiadas Open House is Paula and Mário’s second hotel project, and are also owners of Casas Caiadas in Sabugueiro. Open House is nestled in a historic building that was once a bakery with the country’s most famous bread oven. The building was completely restored and transformed after a few months of renovations, in collaboration with the Pereira Miguel Arquitectos agency. Open House is a unique guesthouse that combines minimalist architecture and authenticity. Open House takes its name from its 5 entrance doors that open onto two different pedestrian streets.
The house stands three stories high. The first floor is a true living space, arranged with a living room, comfortable sofas, a fireplace, a library corner, two dining rooms, and a kitchen. The house showcases works mixing local craftsmanship and contemporary pieces: designer furniture, Joao Bruno Design wool woven benches and chairs, Malga Ceramic Design objects, Graça Paz Studio paintings…
Open House has 3 bedrooms and 1 suite found on the second floor. The decoration is refined, with white walls, waxed concrete on the floor, natural fabrics, and touches of wood, combining aesthetics and functionality. Each room has a bathroom with a marble sink basin, rain shower, and soft towels.
Every morning, Open House serves a homemade breakfast with fresh, local products accompanied by handmade ceramic tableware. On the second story, the roof offers a sunny terrace and swimming pool with a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding village and castle.
Casas Caiadas Open House is an open but intimate place; a unique and welcoming destination.
