Between tradition and innovation

Fikus, The Apulian Bed & Breakfast, is a guesthouse located in the village of Ceglie Messapica, in the Itria Valley, in the region of Puglia.

Fikus, opened in 2015, and is a project initiated by Luisa and Francesco, an Italian couple who wanted to return to their homeland in Puglia and reconnect with their roots. Surrounded by 2 acres of olive groves, dry stone walls, and red-brown soil, Fikus offers contemporary hospitality with a vintage and rustic look.

Fikus counts 3 rooms divided into a trulli and two lamia with traditional whitewashed walls typical of the region. Trullo 19, Lamia 84 and Lamia 79 are singular and warm, and each has a story to tell.

The Trullo 19 room is furnished with a creative salvage theme with vintage furniture from Vlab Art Design. Lamia 84 is bright and white, representing the color of Puglia and its traditions. Lamia 79, is travel themed, featuring a minimalist and industrial style. There are no televisions in the rooms; only books, inviting guests to slow down and disconnect. Each room has a bathroom, a private patio, and an outdoor kitchenette.

Every morning two homemade breakfast menus are served, one savory and one sweet, made with fresh products and served under the pergola in Nicola Fasano‘s ceramic dishes. The property has many common areas, including a panoramic roof terrace, an organic vegetable garden and a large swimming pool surrounded by sun beds and an outdoor shower. It is entirely possible to enjoy an Apulian appetzer served on a plank in the shade of the olive trees. Cooking classes, yoga classes, outdoor massages and bike tours can be organized upon request.

Fikus is an experience beyond travel, it is a unique blend of tradition and contemporary design.
