Case Latine: Hotel in Lama
Perched on the heights of the medieval village of Lama, Hôtel Case Latine embodies the discreet elegance and authentic charm of Corsica.
Hôtel Case Latine: A gem in the heart of Balagne
Case Latine is a characterful establishment offering a peaceful retreat where luxury harmoniously blends with the surrounding nature, inviting travelers to an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Isle of Beauty.
The hotel is located in Lama, between the sea and the mountains, halfway between Corte, L’Île-Rousse, and Saint-Florent. Lama is a preserved gem of Balagne, a region in Haute-Corse renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich heritage. Clinging to a steep hillside, Case Latine offers a panoramic view stretching from the Ostriconi valley to the shimmering waters of the Mediterranean. The nearest beach is just a 10-minute drive away. The village’s cobbled streets, lined with stone houses, immerse visitors in a timeless atmosphere, in the heart of the Corsican mountains and away from the tourist crowds.
The history of Hôtel Case Latine is a family adventure led by Anne and Jean-François. In 2004, they began construction with the architect Hervé Guirlanda on this peaceful haven perched on a rocky outcrop. After two years of meticulous work, the hotel opened its doors in 2006, reflecting the owners’ passion for authenticity and local craftsmanship.
The architecture of Hôtel Case Latine is a tribute to Corsican tradition, with its vegetated flat roofs and stone walls, enhanced by a contemporary touch. The buildings, made from local stone, blend seamlessly into the landscape, creating the illusion of a preserved ancient hamlet. The estate features several small stone houses arranged around narrow streets, small squares, staircases, vaulted passages, terraces, and outdoor pools, inviting guests to experience a unique and authentic stay. Inspired by the beauty of the site and the surrounding nature, Case Latine represents a tranquil refuge of discreet sophistication, merging understated luxury with genuine hospitality.
The hotel offers nine elegant suites, spread across charming “pagliaghji”, small typical stone houses. All different, they are carefully designed to offer optimal comfort while reflecting the unique character of the place. The spacious and warm interiors combine local materials such as wood and stone, soft colors, natural materials, linen, polished concrete, wrought iron, terracotta, and a refined contemporary decoration. Each suite has an independent furnished terrace, allowing guests to enjoy moments of tranquility facing breathtaking panoramas.
Suspesu, the restaurant at Hôtel Case Latine, invites guests on a gastronomic journey celebrating the flavors of the island’s terroir. Anne, the hostess and also the chef, offers a traditional and generous cuisine made from fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients selected from regional producers.
To enhance the experience, the hotel offers three outdoor pools sculpted into the rock, providing relaxing spaces with stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Wellness treatments can be arranged upon request, allowing guests to fully unwind. Additionally, the hotel organizes tailor-made activities such as guided hikes or boat excursions to explore the region’s hidden gems.
Outside the high season, the property can be privatized upon request for private events.
Hôtel Case Latine is more than just a place to stay; it is an invitation to immerse yourself in the soul of Corsica through authentic architecture, delicious cuisine, and an exceptional natural setting. A discreet and exclusive destination, ideal for travelers seeking serenity and escape.
