La Fantaisie: Hotel in Paris
La Fantaisie is a botanical haven in the heart of Paris, where elegance meets joie de vivre and the carefree spirit of happy days.
Hotel La Fantaisie: A Botanical and Poetic Retreat in the 9th Arrondissement
Tucked away on Rue Cadet in the Faubourg Montmartre district, between Pigalle and the Grands Boulevards, La Fantaisie emerges as an enchanted interlude in the vibrant 9th arrondissement. Surrounded by theaters, galleries, and lively cafés, this intimate address invites guests on a sensory journey through Paris. With its lush garden courtyard, sun-drenched terraces, and sweeping views of the Parisian rooftops, the hotel captures the essence of a bucolic, unexpected, and deeply soothing Paris.
Imagined as a joyful home, La Fantaisie is the first Parisian creation by the family-owned Leitmotiv group, driven by a sensitive and contemporary vision of hospitality. Opened in June 2023, the hotel celebrates nature, emotion, and sensory pleasure. It embodies a new generation of Parisian hotels: warm, community-rooted, design-forward, sustainable, and deeply human. Everything here is designed to spark the imagination, with just the right touch of eccentricity to make the experience unforgettable.
The world of La Fantaisie is brought to life by Anglo-Swedish designer Martin Brudnizki, known for his distinctive aesthetic in projects across London, New York, and Miami. Here, he embraces a whimsical garden-inspired style: pastel tones, floral wallpaper, aged brass, light wood, mosaics, and colorful tiles form a cozy setting where each space evokes a dreamlike garden. The lobby and lounges feel like a bohemian greenhouse, where light filters through foliage, storybook-like armchairs invite lounging, and textured materials beckon to be touched.
The 63 rooms and 10 suites extend this delicate ambiance, blending botanical softness with refined comfort. Each room is a colorful cocoon, adorned with velvet, generous curves, golden accents, and floral motifs. Some offer balconies or terraces; others overlook the hidden garden below. All are designed for rest and contemplation, with meticulous attention to materials, natural light, and serene quiet.
The culinary offering is as sensory as it is inspired. The hotel restaurant, once known as Golden Poppy under the guidance of Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn, has since evolved under a new menu but maintains its founding philosophy: seasonal, inventive, largely plant-based cuisine with a global influence. The dishes honor freshness, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and vibrant, colorful plates served in a bright, flower-filled setting. In summer, the garden terrace becomes the perfect stage for sunlit lunches or dinners under twinkling lights.
The escape continues in La Fantaisie’s spa, a mineral sanctuary conceived as an extension of the garden. It features a clear water pool, hammam, sauna, and several treatment rooms. Inspired by French brand Holidermie, the spa offers holistic rituals and clean beauty treatments focused on natural radiance and overall wellness. Yoga and meditation sessions are also held in this lush, calming environment.
La Fantaisie is more than a hotel, it’s a place of life, emotion, and enchantment. A retreat to rediscover wonder, to indulge in a gentle pause in the heart of the city. An invitation to slow down, breathe, and dream. In Paris, it’s a well-kept secret whispered like a promise: to find a little fantasy in every moment.
