Silver Lake Pool & Inn: Hotel in Los Angeles
The Silver Lake Pool & Inn is a new hotel in L.A., designed around the idea of an urban oasis.
An urban oasis basking in the Californian sunshine
On the East side of Los Angeles, in one of the liveliest neighborhoods, at the vibrant junction of Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard, Silver Lake Pool & Inn is Palisociety‘s latest project, an independent hotel group already based out of San Francisco and Miami.
The group has redeveloped and reinvented a former 1980s motel into a dynamic living space in collaboration with the Venice Beach-based architecture and design studio Electric Bowery. The hotel is envisioned as an urban oasis in a seductive design with a Californian aesthetic and Mexican influences. The hotel is spacious with different interiors decorated with a mix of natural, handcrafted and vintage materials and furniture, along with local artwork.
The 54 rooms are bathed in natural light. They each have unique furniture, leather and wooden armchairs, terrazzo night tables made by Concrete Collaborative, hand-made Moroccan tiles, vintage ANDlight floor lamps, antique carpets, and works of art, which blend with oversized succulent plants and soothing neutral color tones. Bathrooms feature terrazzo sinks and rain showers.
The Marco Polo trattoria restaurant and U-shaped bar in green marble and wood, with its large raised terrace and striped umbrellas, offers Italian cuisine with seasonal products. The roof, perched on top of the building, is all white and clad in natural flagstones, with giant cactus gardens and a lagoon-colored swimming pool, offering a panoramic view of L.A.’s famous sunsets.
Silver Lake is a modern take on a typical American motel in the upscale Silver Lake neighborhood.
