Swell is located just minutes from Main Beach, in the beating heart of the East Coast’s bohemian surfing mecca, Byron Bay. Once an iconic motel, the venue was redesigned by Andrew Maltin and DayNa Decker in collaboration with local designer Nyree Mackenzie. Swell’s interiors boast a modern aesthetic with a perfect blend of natural elements and vintage glamour. They transport guests back to the 1970s, with a rich, earthy color palette blending with textured woods and lush velvets. Photographic works are featured throughout, while custom furniture lines the spaces. The hotel features a marble-tiled swimming pool and an infrared sauna.
