Vestige Son Ermità: Hotel in Menorca, Spain
Vestige Son Ermità – A Mediterranean Retreat Between Heritage and Wild Nature
A Historic Finca in the Heart of Secret Menorca
Nestled near Ferreries, in the northern part of Menorca, Vestige Son Ermità is located in one of the most preserved areas of the Balearic Islands. Far from the island’s lively coastal resorts, the hotel is surrounded by wild hills, Mediterranean forests, and secluded coves accessible from the estate. This rare destination offers a slower travel experience, where each day begins with the soft island light and unfolds according to the rhythm of nature, walking trails, and the sea.
The project is created by Vestige Collection, a Spanish hospitality brand dedicated to restoring historic properties. Son Ermità occupies an 18th-century agricultural finca, carefully transformed into an intimate boutique hotel while preserving the soul of the original estate. The philosophy is based on a slower approach to travel, where existing architecture, local traditions, and environmental preservation become the true foundations of the experience. The architecture reflects Menorca’s rural identity. Limestone walls, original wooden beams, and traditional farmhouse volumes have been restored to preserve the authentic character of the property. Set within an 800-hectare private estate shared with the sister property Binidufà, the hotel enjoys an exceptional natural setting of farmland, ancient woodland, and untouched coastline.
Vestige Son Ermità features 11 rooms and suites spread throughout the historic finca and renovated agricultural buildings. The accommodation includes Terrace Superior Rooms, Garden Superior Rooms, Junior Suites, and Suites with private terraces or gardens, each designed as an intimate retreat overlooking the Menorcan landscape. Every room has its own character, with generous proportions, exposed beams, and carefully positioned openings framing the surrounding scenery. The interiors celebrate natural materials and Menorca’s artisanal heritage. Raw stone, aged wood, terracotta floors, natural-toned fabrics, and custom-made furniture create a minimalist yet warm aesthetic. The atmosphere evokes a Mediterranean country house reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, where every detail preserves a connection to the history of the place.
Gastronomy draws inspiration from Menorca’s land and agricultural heritage. The restaurant highlights Mediterranean cuisine with seasonal ingredients, local produce, and a refined yet uncomplicated approach. Dining becomes an experience in itself, extended by evening light, open countryside views, and the peaceful atmosphere of the finca.
The wellness experience blends naturally with the surrounding environment. Vestige Son Ermità offers a swimming pool overlooking the landscape, a fitness area, a yoga platform, and a selection of nature-based activities such as hiking, electric bike rides, and excursions to hidden coves. Here, wellbeing comes above all from reconnecting with the island’s natural rhythm.
More than just a hotel in Menorca, Vestige Son Ermità is an invitation to discover another side of the Balearics. A place where luxury is defined by space, silence, and the beauty of an untouched landscape. Between historic architecture, understated design, and the presence of nature, this intimate retreat represents a new way of experiencing the Mediterranean. For a stay in Menorca shaped by authenticity, Vestige Son Ermità offers a rare escape. A refuge designed to slow down, explore the island’s wild paths, and rediscover a form of effortless elegance deeply rooted in its surroundings.
