Farnhaus is located on a hill a little above Dorf Tirol and the spa town of Merano. Farnhaus is set in the middle of the mountains and nature of Tyrol, in a quiet, peaceful, and easily accessible location.
The former family inn, where ferns used to grow, has been transformed into a dwelling house, with the two new apartments added by Stefan and his wife Franziska. And so the ferns are not only the namesake but also the symbol of closeness to nature and the newly interpreted tradition of this place.
Completed in 2022, Farnhaus offers two brand new apartments that can accommodate up to three people each, designed to be a cozy retreat where you can feel at home. The 44 sqm apartments bathed in light consist of a sleeping area, a bathroom, a living-dining room with a huge window 5 meters wide, an equipped kitchen and a large south-facing terrace of 25 sqm with a dining table and deck chairs. The view is magnificent, spectacular and panoramic over the entire Adige and Merano Valleys.
The green and filigree structure of the fern is echoed throughout, reflecting lightness and nature. Sleek, minimalist interiors feature locally handcrafted furniture, sage green, fern green and forest hues. The bedroom areas are separated with permeable spacers, the dark green velvet sofa invites you to relax and the bathroom is also green with cosmetics made from South Tyrolean mountain spring water and plant extracts. High-quality mattresses and bed linen specially made in the region allow a good sleep.
It is possible to make use of the herb garden and get fresh bread from the baker every day. Dorf Tirol and Merano offer a variety of dining options, with award-winning restaurants, traditional inns and rustic mountain huts, each offering gourmet South Tyrol cuisine. Including traditional dishes such as Kaasknödl (cheese dumplings).
Nestled in the middle of the trails, Farnhaus is an ideal starting point for hikes, beautiful walks and outdoor activities.
