Chapter Chianti: Hotel in Tuscany, Italy
A historic estate reimagined for modern travelers
Located just 45 minutes from Florence and within easy reach of Siena, Chapter Chianti spans more than 99 acres of vineyards, cypress trees, and olive groves. Set within a beautifully restored 16th-century borgo, the property offers an authentic gateway to one of Italy’s most celebrated wine regions, where winding country roads lead to family-owned wineries, medieval villages, and centuries-old castles.
As the second property in the Chapter Italia collection, following Chapter Roma, the hotel introduces a fresh vision of Italian luxury. Conceived by Marco Cilia, Chapter Chianti moves beyond the traditional image of rustic Tuscany, blending contemporary hospitality with local culture, art, gastronomy, and meaningful experiences rooted in the surrounding landscape.
The architectural transformation and interior design have been entrusted to renowned South African designer Tristan du Plessis of Studio A. His bold vision preserves the soul of the historic borgo while introducing a contemporary aesthetic defined by polished concrete, steel, marble, and travertine. Original stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and centuries-old architectural details contrast beautifully with bespoke furniture crafted by Tuscan artisans, sculptural lighting, and carefully curated contemporary artworks, including commissioned pieces by artist Koketit. The result is an environment that feels more like a sophisticated design gallery than a traditional countryside hotel.
Chapter Chianti features 82 guest rooms, suites, and private residences, thoughtfully distributed throughout the restored medieval village. Accommodations range from intimate Baby Double rooms to spacious multi-bedroom suites, culminating in The Mansion, an exclusive five-bedroom private villa complete with its own swimming pool and expansive outdoor living spaces. Every room showcases custom furniture designed by Tristan du Plessis, handcrafted Tuscan woodwork, elegant marble bathrooms, La Bruket organic amenities, and original artwork. Warm natural materials, earthy tones, and private terraces overlooking gardens or courtyards create a refined residential atmosphere inspired by contemporary Tuscan living.
Dining plays a central role in the experience with three restaurants and three bars celebrating both Tuscan culinary traditions and international influences. The signature restaurant, Osso, highlights seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms alongside organic produce grown on the estate. Handmade pasta, regional meats, exceptional olive oils, and renowned Chianti wines define a menu deeply rooted in Tuscany, while outdoor terraces provide the perfect setting for long lunches and memorable dinners beneath the Italian sky. Throughout the year, guests can also enjoy wine tastings, culinary workshops, and immersive food experiences.
Wellness extends beyond the traditional spa experience through the 5,400-square-foot F.A.R.M. Social Spa, an immersive sanctuary inspired by the rituals of ancient Roman baths. The spa features hydrotherapy pools, salt pools, steam rooms, saunas, a dry hammam, Jacuzzis, and treatment spaces designed to encourage both relaxation and social connection. Beyond the spa, guests can experience Tuscany through curated activities including truffle hunting, olive harvesting, wine tastings, hiking, mountain biking, and stargazing.
Blending contemporary architecture, artistic expression, and authentic Tuscan culture within a beautifully restored medieval village, Chapter Chianti offers a refreshing new interpretation of Italian luxury hospitality—one where heritage and innovation coexist effortlessly.
