Little Green Bay reveals itself at the end of a winding road, far from Hvar’s summer crowds, nestled in an unspoiled bay where the Adriatic Sea appears perfectly still. Surrounded by maritime pines, pale rocks, and dense Mediterranean vegetation, the guesthouse overlooks a pristine cove with crystalline waters, almost exclusively accessible to its guests. At its heart, Little Green Bay is a story of passion and family. Behind the project are Julie and Mathieu Grinberg, sister and brother, who fell in love with this wild bay and decided to bring it back to life with a deeply personal vision of hospitality. Their ambition was never to create a conventional hotel, but rather an open, welcoming house conceived as a Mediterranean retreat where guests immediately feel at home. The concept is built on a simple idea: welcoming guests as one would welcome friends, without rigidity, in a free-spirited and sun-drenched atmosphere. This philosophy gave rise to what the owners like to call a “non-hotel,” where every detail is guided by pleasure, simplicity, and a genuine sense of sharing.

The architecture of Little Green Bay follows the natural contours of the bay. The buildings, constructed or renovated in keeping with local traditions, feature pale stone, wood, and natural materials that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Volumes remain deliberately low and discreet, almost hidden within the vegetation. Inside, the design favours softness and restraint: clean lines, raw materials, and a colour palette inspired by the sea and the land. Custom-made furniture sits alongside carefully sourced pieces, creating an atmosphere that feels both contemporary and warmly lived-in. Every space is designed to welcome natural light and extend the feeling of outdoor living.

The guesthouse offers fifteen rooms, each different yet united by the same sense of understated comfort and natural elegance. Spacious and filled with light, they open onto private terraces or balconies with soothing views of the sea or gardens. Some feature outdoor showers, others freestanding bathtubs facing the horizon, all inviting guests to slow down and savour the moment. The décor embraces refined minimalism: high-quality linens, light wood, natural textiles, and modern amenities seamlessly integrated. Here, luxury is expressed through simplicity and the absolute calm of nights lulled by the sound of the water.

Dining plays a central role at Little Green Bay, the true beating heart of the house. The cuisine celebrates Mediterranean flavours through sun-kissed dishes inspired by local, seasonal ingredients. Freshly caught fish, ripe vegetables, and herbs from the garden come together in a sincere and generous menu, best enjoyed with the sea as a backdrop. Meals unfold in a relaxed atmosphere, around large convivial tables or in more intimate settings, following the gentle rhythm of days that stretch effortlessly into evening. Designed as a natural extension of the landscape, the wellness area invites complete disconnection. An open-air spa nestled in the greenery offers massages and relaxing treatments in an intimate setting. Just steps away, the private beach allows guests to slip into clear waters at any hour of the day. Paddleboarding, snorkelling, boat trips, or simple moments of sun-soaked idleness shape the days according to each guest’s desires.
